About · Lightly-Salted since 2003

One person, a lot of curiosity, and a well-lit workbench.

Lightly-Salted Productions is a creative laboratory in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. I make things — photographs, software, electronics, the occasional video game — and the thread running through all of it is plain curiosity.

For more than twenty years, the work here has lived where art and technology overlap — sometimes analog, sometimes digital, usually both in the same afternoon.

I don’t specialize so much as follow the thread. A photograph leads to a darkroom trick, which leads to a circuit, which leads to a small program, which somehow becomes a video game about a Pennsylvania highway. It all belongs, because it all starts with the same question: what if I tried this?

The studio’s name is also its philosophy. Innovate, solve, create — but never over-season the work. A dash of creativity is usually plenty.

Along the way, that curiosity has meant good work with good people — among them The Morning Call, Discover Lehigh Valley, Lehigh University, the Allentown Fair, and Mack Trucks.

What happens here

A little of everything, on purpose.

Nothing here is siloed. The disciplines borrow tools from each other constantly — that overlap is the whole point.

What’s next

I don’t know what I’ll build next either.

That’s the fun part. Take a look at what’s on the bench — or tell me what you’re dreaming up.
